Hacking the Future of Food and Farming in Kenya!

We are returning to Kenya with our beloved #techforagriculture theme to hack everything related to agriculture and food!  Join us for Tech for Agriculture Kenya 2025-  a 4-day-long hackathon where tech experts will get a chance to connect with farmers and other agriculture experts to ensure that the solution built solves the root problem.

Hackathon will take place in  Kisumu-  Kenya’s laid-back agricultural gem on the shores of Lake Victoria! Known for its fish, fertile lands, and growing agricultural entrepreneurial scene, Kisumu is the perfect place to plant bold ideas and watch them grow. 🌿🐟

This year’s program is focusing on the following key challenge areas:

    - Sustainable farming and climate resilience
    - Food Innovation & Post-Harvest Technologies
    - Market access, traceability, and logistics
    - Youth engagement and employment in agri-tech
    - Financial inclusion & farmer education

These are the initial topic areas, but we are welcoming your own solutions and real-problem-based solutions to the hackathon.

What to expect from the hackathon?

    - A high-energy and well-structured Garage48 hackathon from November 6–9, 2025, with the best international and local experts guiding teams to develop their idea from an idea to a prototype

    - A chance to develop solutions with real-world impact: from precision farming tools and digital advisory services to farm-to-market platforms and climate adaptation tech.

    - A pitch session in front of a jury of investors, experts, and potential partners, with the best teams awarded prizes and access to a further post-hackathon acceleration program

    What comes next?

The most promising teams will advance to a 3-month Acceleration Program, running from December 2025 to March 2026. Participants will receive:

    - Tailored business and technical support and workshops to support the development of the solutions
    - Ad-hoc mentoring from the mentors
    - Visibility, matchmaking opportunities
Monetary grants to further develop and scale their solutions based on the individual development plans created during the program

Bring your skills, your curiosity, and your ambition, and let’s co-create tech solutions that make agriculture more sustainable, efficient, and future-ready.
