Garage48 and JCI World Congress 2019 are organising the largest and the greatest hackathon in Estonia. This global multi-stream event will bring together hundreds of international talents and creative minds who will solve the challenges of today and create new powerful startups. Each stream of the event will be supported by several companies leading in the stream topic. They will provide fascinating challenges, driven by data and real problems, but you can join with your own idea as well.
The event is open for everyone from around the world who want to empower themselves, be innovative and create something with their own hands and minds. We will be creating teams of developers, designers, business minds, experts and visionaries so everyone has a place. Also, do not worry if you don't have a team, because you can apply alone and we will put together the team from many talented people. This will not only give you the opportunity to solve the challenges but also network with amazing people from all around the globe.
This event is a possibility to surround yourself with people who inspire you to become better, so prepare yourself for 48-hours of excitement, inspiration, creativity and validation. All of the teams will be supported by the best local and international mentors throughout the event and will guide your solutions to victory. On the last day of the hackathon, participants will get the chance to pitch in front of the juries and investors who will choose the hackathon winners. Coffee, warm meals and snacks will be provided throughout the event, so you can focus on developing your idea into a full-on prototype.
Hackathon will be held in the creative hub Kultuurikatel - an inspiring venue and a home to many innovative conferences and organisations. Kultuurikatel is one of the best places to boost all the creative minds and forward thinkers to grow and create mutual synergies between each other.

Garage48 hackathon is an intense brainstorming marathon, where people with different skills (developers, designers, business minds, engineers, visionaries) get together, exchange ideas, form teams and develop working prototypes within 48 hours. The brainstorming sessions are well structured and the teams are helped throughout the weekend by top-notch mentors. Best teams receive the opportunity for follow up mentoring and other prizes that support them in developing their project further
During these 48 hours, you will meet your team, go through checkpoints with mentors, elaborate and develop on your idea, solve partners' challenges. In the end, you will pitch the demo of your product or service to the juries and investors and win prizes.

▶ Who can apply?
Anyone is allowed to apply! We do not discriminate in any way and we would like to give an opportunity to anyone with an idea and some skills to achieve it. If you have neither a team nor an idea, but a set of skills to help implement other ideas you are welcome to apply and we will help you find you a team.
▶ How can I form my team?
Do not worry if you do not have a team at the moment, we will help you to find one and match you up with the right people either before the event or at the beginning of the event. We will have a facebook group for more efficient communication purposes.
▶ Will there be food served at the event?
Yes. We will have enough food to keep everyone developing their projects, you will not have to worry about snacks or coffee as well. Please state any dietary restrictions in the registration form so we can take them into consideration.
▶ Who owns the intellectual property of the projects created at the event?
All intellectual properties are owned completely by the participants and the team. What exactly happens to the projects may be discussed between partners and investors after the event.
