Garage48 supporting start-up ecosystem in Ukraine

Garage48 one of the most energetic and skilled events have been taking place in Kyiv, Ukraine. Now we are happy to announce that already from autumn 2014 we are planning at least 3 events in Ukraine, also in regional areas: Kyiv, Lviv and Odessa. Garage48 has entered into a 2 year partnership that will involve contributing to the local ICT start-up community and work with them to improve the local ecosystem.

In 2012, Garage48 held it’s first event in Ukraine co-organized together with DOU (biggest developer community in Ukraine), supported by Yandex and Skype and mentored by the great Peter Sunde himself. In 2013 we were back even bigger and greater with the support of Microsoft. Co-operation with international acceleration & incubator programs Eastlabs and HappyFarm have brought good results and we have seen teams to get as far as Seedcamp investments.  "Ukraine has one of the biggest IT talent pools in the world. So this is definitely a good place to start your company and hire engineers and we want to be there helping to boost and contribute to that. New goverment has shown strong support for IT sector already and I believe these events will make a big impact in helping to build a bridge between Ukraine, the Baltic countries and Silicon valley," said Ragnar Sass (co-founder of Garage48).

Daria Golovach, the local organizer of Garage48 hackathons and Chasopys Coworking Space manager brings out: "Garage48 is one of the strongest and important startup events ever brought to Ukraine with its quality, international mentors and all in English format. It is worth to mention that Garage48 is the only hackathon supporting its teams also after the event and helping motivating teams to reach their next steps."
Garage48 will be starting the project with organizing a hackathon event in Kyiv already this autumn together with IDCEE. Be sure to follow the information in Facebook and Twitter for more information!
